Our Story

I was sitting at my computer, thinking about going back to work after two years at home with my daughter, Emmy. She’d been happily playing with my husband when suddenly she walked over, rested her little hand on my thigh, and looked up at me. She didn’t say anything aloud, but her eyes said it all— “Mama, I need you.”

As I looked down at her, it felt like time stopped. That’s when it hit me. What she wanted most wasn’t another educational toy or activity. She wanted connection. She wanted me to just be with her. And I realized I was craving the same thing.

Choosing a slower, more intentional way of living.

I spent years caught up in the hustle and grind of modern life—long commutes, long work hours, the gym, jam-packed weekends, more work. Most days felt like a race to the finish line and it was exhausting. Deep down, I always felt we weren’t meant to live life at such a relentless pace. So when I became pregnant, I promised myself I’d give Emmy something different: a slow, intentional childhood. A childhood filled with presence, connection, and hopefully build a relationship that would last our lifetime.

The Connection Deck

The Connection Deck grew out of that need to reconnect with what's important: my desire for presence, reflection, and a touch of beauty. I wanted something intentional enough to live on the coffee table, but also simple enough to reach for in the middle of a crazy day.

Hi I'm Brittany

I’m a mother, artist, and creative who deeply believes in the power of simple, everyday moments of connection.

After more than 15 years working in communications and strategy, I felt called to step away from the corporate world and create in a way that felt more soul-nourishing. In 2016, I founded an equine therapy program that helped children and teens build emotional intelligence, work through challenges at home, and find confidence, safety, and grounding during difficult times.

What came next...

Alongside that work, I spent years studying somatic experiencing, psychology, and spirituality—disciplines that deepened my understanding of how people heal, grow, and connect.

Early motherhood brought its own mix of wonder and overwhelm. In that season, I found myself searching for tools that would help me feel more present with my daughter while also reconnecting with this new version of myself.

Kindred Keeps was born out of that search.
